About Our Private Ceremonies
The Marilyn Jean has been providing private boat charters for decades, giving people in or visiting New York City the opportunity to be out on the water with friends, loved ones, and more.
We know how to provide a respectful, intimate setting where you can be alone on the waters around New York City, or over near one of the lighthouses, bridges, or other areas of your choice. You and your loved ones can spread the deceased’s ashes yourself, or you can ask our captain to do it for you.
Once completed, we will provide you with what’s known as a “Burial at Sea Certificate” which will have information such as the date of the ashes and the maritime coordinates – the latter of which can be used to visit that same spot in the future any time you and your loved ones would like to visit their place of rest.
